SUGARPILL Rave!!!

When I think of the brand Sugarpill, one word comes to mind: COLOR!!!! This is definitely one of the most incredible cosmetic lines to truly approach color the way it was meant to be. I am a fanatic makeup stalker and when I heard about this brand, I was on the hunt. I was so impressed after seeing all the positive reviews that I couldn’t stay away. I had actually heard about Amy (creator) from EBay because I loved to see the gorgeous items she was selling. Always such beautiful, vintage and different items of clothing that were flashy, and unique. The same is true for Sugarpill, an indie brand of high quality and amazingly pigmented shadows. The best part is that it appeals to EVERYONE of all skin tones for fabulous looks.  From what I have learned, the founder and creator of the line Amy was inspired by the glamorous makeup frequently used by drag queens and performers. Her love of theatrical makeup also made an impact to what she was dreaming of creating. The result being an intense and velvety soft line of shadows that give a high voltage of color and blend seamlessly on the skin. I am just a regular girl who LOVES color especially in makeup. I come from the land of the bronzed, natural, ethnic look land that is South Florida. South beach is known for it’s bathing beauties with gorgeous bodies, faces and natural looks without too much overwhelming color. So this explains why I DON’T fit in. Lol I may have the gorgeous face, but I LOVE me some color! Sugarpill was right up my alley and I was so impressed by what they accomplished in such a short time. They have only been out for a little over a year and have caused a major impact of the beauty community. Here are a few reasons why: between the flawlessness of their line, attention to detail, their incredible packaging and customer service, they have really set the bar. One amazing feature about this line is their attention and customer service. With a flat rate shipping fee in the US and ability to also ship worldwide, it’s amazing. The best part is when you receive your order and it comes quickly and packaged in gorgeous hot pink tissue paper, samples, business cards and with your order slip signed PERSONALLY by Amy! How impeccable is that? There are a plethora of makeup lines out today and so many to come. What makes Sugarpill so impressive is that from the very start you feel like you are number one as a customer and then are spoiled rotten from the phenomenal product that you have purchased. All in all, I highly recommend this product. I urge to go to www.sugarpillshop.com and find yourself in a wonderland of epic beauty. I hope this Rave was helpful and thank you for visiting my blog! Love, peace and beauty always!!! Xoxo

Product RAVE for Men and Women!!!!! Sprayology

Product Rave!!! For Men and Women

Hello all my beauty stalkers.....

I am here today with a product rave!!! This was a product that was sent to me for consideration and I ended up repurchasing more. It is for the vitamin enriched, homeopathic oral spray: Sprayology. This stuff is to put it lightly....AMAZING!!!I happened to receive the Body Skin Tonic at the perfect time. We were having those two days a year in South Florida where is was cold and my skin wasn't too used to that and was feeling dry. I am known as a HUGE lotion person and I am constantly applying so it was annoying when I would notice any dryness. This particular one that I tried out was meant to rejuvenate dry skin and believe me, it did. Within a couple of days I notice a difference and felt more hydrated. I have a sensitivity to certain vitamins, meds, etc. Sprayology was just what the doctor ordered. All you need to do is spray 2 pumps under the tongue 2-3 times a day and within days you will feel it working. It costs $24.00 USD  for a 1.38 oz bottle and will last you about a month if needed everyday. It will really last you a while if you are using it sporadically for a certain issue. I really think it's pretty worth it if you factor in the benefits and costs of separate items.  I even had a friend who's son was having skin issues (eczema, I believe) and I recommended this. Sprayology has now become a staple in her house. It helped relieve the skin irritation her poor son was dealing with and stopped him from scratching. What is so great about this line too is that they a spray for anything and everything. They have them for cold & flu, stress relief, sleep deprivation and even if you had too much to drink on a fun night out and woke up dehydrated and not yourself. There is something for everyone! The one I cannot wait to try is the one for PMS!!!!! I still can't believe it. That is a godsend and significant others around the world rejoice.... So I will keep you posted when I get and try that one out as well. So I hope you find this review/rave helpful and it opens your eyes to natural alternatives that are out in the health and beauty market. These days it is scary how we are so inclined to quickly take medication for something. This gives you an option. There is a video to go with this review that I hope you will enjoy and stay tuned, I have some amazing stuff lined up!!! Love, peace and beauty to all my stalkers!!!Xoxo

Haircare routine, tips and tricks and lines!!!

Hello all my gorgeous stalkers:
I wanted to do a follow up post to my Haircare 2011 video that I have posted on my YT and shared here on the blog. There are so many amazing brands of hair care out in the world today. Women and men live to go to the salon to get their hair cut, colored and treated. The beauty of these brands is that they allow for you to take care and maintain your color and quality of your hairstyle. Like I said in my video, I have very fine hair. When I was in high school, it was a lot thicker and big in curly. If you watch my video, you can see a fun little flashback of me rocking some big 80's curls. I always loved to get my hair done since I was very young. I lived in the salon with my mom watching her get beautiful haircuts and color. I always tried to be trendy with my styles and remember some crazy styles & colors I had. :)  In my twenties, I used to live to get my hair done with one of my bestest friends. We worked together and lived to plan when we were going to the salon and what we were going to do! Remember Susie Lol?? Anyhow, these days I am just as obsessed with keeping my hair healthy because I have done so many things to it. Here are some things that I mentioned in the video, but didn't really press upon too much. I am a firm believer in vitamins and it is essential to take biotin as well as vitamin E to promote strong hair, skin and nails. The most important thing is to drink a lot of water all the time. Water isn't only good for your hair, but also for your body in general. I really try to force myself to drink all I can. I also believe that deep conditioning is a must for all hair types. Even someone like me who has a tendency towards an oily scalp, I try to deep condition my ends once a week. That is where all the breakage is. It is also imperative that when you blow dry that you to it on warm heat. Heat is the biggest stress that we put on our hair and high heat can damage the follicles. Look into sulfate free shampoos such as L'oreal Ever Pure and Ever Sleek. They are great lines for clarifying once a week. One vital thing as well is to ALWAYS use a heat protector if you are going to flat iron. I cannot stress this enough. It is a great preventative for damage to your ends. Always keep in mind that the products that you use do not always have to come from the Salon or be very pricey. There are so many amazing brands that you can find in the drugstore, wal-mart, kmart, etc. In my video I did mention a little of each. I am big on Moroccan and Macadamia Natural oil lines because I do have sensitive hair. I also use L'oreal for purifying and organix to mix it up. That is something that is very important, you can change up your lines every month or two so that your hair gets the maximum benefits. Just don't be sold by one thing, go with what feels good for you and what you can afford. I hope this was helpful for you and I will include some pics of my products that I am using now! Until next time....Love, peace and beauty always!!!! Xoxo

The most important beauty item you can have.....Confidence!!!!

Hello to all my beauty stalkers!

Do you spend your life planning, worrying and stressing about anything and everything in your life? Do you wake up and get out of the shower only to look in the mirror and not like what you see? Do you look at yourself thinking that you look tired, haggard and not happy with yourself? You are NOT the only one! This happens everyday and this post isn't to tell you about what new product is out and send you buy anything. This is to tell you that you the most imperative item is in your beauty collection and you overlook it every single day: Your confidence!!!! That love for yourself that you need to make you smile and not care about what the world can throw at you. The best gift we have as human beings is the ability to change who we are. If there is something that we are not happy with, we can just take the initiative to make it better. It can be anything, emotional, mental or physical! The most frequent occurrence is when we let others affect how we live OUR lives. That is the hardest thing to overcome and it is vital to look at ourselves and make a stand to change that. NO ONE can dictate who you are or who you will become. You are so amazing and unique in your own special and were made for greatness!!! You have to tell yourself that every single day: You were made for GREATNESS! The most important saying is the truest of all: "In order to love someone, you must love yourself first". This is so true because so many get lost trying to please others and they are never happy. When I was planning my first filming of my videos, I was scared about how I would "like" myself on camera. I even stated it on Twitter asking my followers to say a prayer for me. It was then I got the best message from a very special person that told me that if I didn't believe in myself, no one else would. She was completely right! I mean your inner voice is imperative to accomplishing even the smallest task. Only you can tell yourself that you can do something and actually be confident enough to do it. This post is so important for me because I have been intimated so many times when starting this blog and my YT channel. Society is very complex and judgemental these days and with the Internet, those of us that are out there are exposed to everything! I created this for myself and my YT channel is all for me and those who believe in me. I know that I can do anything and I will do all I can to give myself a positive boost everyday! Are you up to the same challenge? I leave you with one of my favorite songs that is so true in its lyrics. Enjoy my gorgeous people...... <3 <3 <3 always and laugh often!!!

Goodbye to the girl with the violet eyes.....

Today we lost the legendary Elizabeth Taylor at the age of 79. What can you say about one of the MOST beautiful women to ever grace the screen? She had it all, fame, fortune, talent and of course timeless beauty. To quote the lovely Debbie Reynolds, "Every woman wanted to be like her and every man wanted her, including mine." Married eight times & twice to the truest love of her life Richard Burton, she knew what is was to be loved. She knew how to rise above despair, tribulation and illness and fight to keep going. What is so amazing about her was her natural ability to project class and epitomize what a real lady is. The first thing that comes to mind when remembering her are her gorgeous face and her incredible talent on screen. Who can forget films like "Cleopatra" and "Cat on a hot tin roof"? Those are just a taste of all she gave to us. I even said it today on twitter that when I look back and think of how perfect she always looked in her films. Can you only imagine what it would have been like if back in the 50's and 60's there would have been the makeup lines that there are today? Her beauty mainly radiated from the inside and all her goodness and generosity. She was so giving and worked so hard as an ambassador for AMFAR as well as a spokesperson for GLAAD. She believed in sharing and giving love at all costs and that was the most beautiful thing about her. Today in the New York Times, I think that Barbra Streisand said it best: "It is the end of an era". So I say goodbye to an amazing icon that I will forever cherish who has brought me some of the best memories of my life. You will live in my heart forever....... In you honor, I share some of my favorite films:

Happy St. Patrick's Day....It ain't easy being green!!!

Hello to my gorgeous stalkers and I hope you are having a lovely St. Patrick's Day full of love and laughter with those you make you smile!! In the spirit of this color induced holiday, I thought that I would let you in on a few of amazing natural skincare tips using something green! I spend a lot of time watching and reading about all sorts of amazing things that can truly keep you healthy and they are usually right in your kitchen cabinet. So without further delay, I want you all to take notice of a little item called Green Tea. It's not just for drinking anymore. Green tea is jam packed with antioxidants that are amazing for the skin. It can be rejuvenating and also filled with anti aging natural ingredients.  I have combination/oily skin and really find green tea to be soothing as well as helpful to any acne that I get. You can tons of at home recipes for masks, cleansers, etc all using green tea. I can definitely tell you from experience that it makes your skin feel AMAZING!! So with this in mind I wanted to share a couple of my favorite at home all natural skin recipes that I have learned:

1) Green Tea Toner:
I learned about this from amazing makeup artist and YouTube Guru Leesha aka @xsparkage and it works beautifully.

1 part Apple Cider Vinegar
1 part Witch Hazel
3 parts green tea

Mix them together and place in a bottle that you can just use for everyday as an after cleansing toner. It revitalizes the skin and also helps with blemishes. I can't live without it.

2) Green Tea Ice facial
I learned from another amazing makeup artist and YouTube Guru Michelle Phan aka @ricebunny.
1 glass of steeped green tea
5 capsules of vitamin E

Once you have the steeped tea ready, poke a hole into each capsule of vitamin E and squeeze the liquid into the green tea. Then mix together. Once mixed, pour contents into an ice tray and freeze into popsicles. Use tooth picks and insert into the centers to be able to pull them out when frozen. After frozen pull one out and rub all over cleansed face.  It can be done either in the morning or evening. This is amazing for the pores, it reduces redness and is extremely rejuvenating for the skin.

3) Green Tea facial spritz
This is my last must have and something I always keep in the house. Living in Miami, there is a lot of humidity and heat that can be draining and crazy on the skin. Using a travel sized spray bottle, I just fill it with green tea and keep it in the fridge. If I am going out where I will be in the sun or heat, I will take it and use it to freshen up and spritz my face. This is great for freshening up the skin and helps with controlling oil.

I encourage you all to go online and search for all kinds of at home recipes. Sometimes you can find the most amazing ingredients right in your home. So I hope that these tips are helpful for you all and I wish you an amazing and safe St. Paddy's Day! Let me know of any go to natural recipes that you use.

Thanks for subscribing!!! Xoxo

In order to create a masterpiece, you need a primer!!!

Hello my beautiful stalkers!!

My wonder for the day is what did we do before there were makeup primers? Of course, we moisturized and then set forward to apply liquid or powder foundation, etc…..

There was a time where we survived without primers, but it was a much oilier unprotected and less hydrated time.

Living in Miami, humidity is a nightmare for everything! It kills your face, your makeup and your hairstyle. It can be hard for those with combination/oily skin during those really humid summer months (but, wait it’s Miami so it’s humid year round). :)  Floridians dream of those two days a year when it’s cool outside and they can enjoy and beautiful blowout and matte skin! Don’t get me wrong the summer can be fun and enjoyable when at the pool or the beach. You just have to go with the flow and adapt accordingly. This includes your beauty routine! No matter what, the most vital thing no matter where you live is: ALWAYS use sunscreen or makeup with SPF. I thought I would share some of my all time favorite primers with you. There are so many to choose from and I know that I am leaving out some of my favs, but these are right now, some of my go to primers that have really done well for me. I have combination/oily skin and really can have a challenging time when finding products for my face. It can be anything from a cleanser to our current topic, primers.

**Please note that these are great for all skin tones and pretty much all skin types**

Disclaimer

Hello to all the beautiful people!!!!

This is my own little disclaimer to those interested: I am NOT a makeup artist, hairdresser or anything like that. I am not licensed, but I am knowledgeable and have researched, studied and worked on pretty much everything in the beauty field. I am a makeup stalker and am always learning about the next big thing. I have several favorite brands, high end and drugstore and can pretty much write about any subject. I love your support and thank you for being here. So remember that there are no haters, only motivators. These are my opinions plain and simple. This is an open forum, so please feel free to participate and ask questions.... <3 <3 <3

Praying for those in Japan

This is a little off topic of this blog....

I just want to ask that we all take a moment today and pray for those in Japan. Pray for them to get all the help they need and to find a way to recover from this tragedy. It is just a reminder of how short life is and how much we need to enjoy every moment. Xoxo

Welcome to Pinky's World

This is a blog that has been long time coming.....I am a writer at heart with a love for knowledge and a passion for all that is beautiful! I live for my family, friends, music, and movies that serve as the basis to keeping me smiling. This blog will have it all, fun, laughter, fear and most of all the desire to learn about any and everything. There are no stupid questions and definitely no hesitations. I am myself, honest and true. I live for the 80's and still feel like I am in a John Hughes movie. I believe that true love and true beauty come from within ourselves. Only when we feel that, can we seek and find beauty and love inside others. In my world, we will talk about it all, makeup, nails, hair, skin, body and all that comes from beauty. All randomness is welcome as well. I welcome all haters, because they serve as motivators and cannot harm me. The more people talk about you, the better you are. I will allow you to see the real me and my thoughts. Reminding those nay sayers, that always said "maybe I would be a lot prettier if I lost weight.", Pretty is a state of mind, in the eye of the beholder.  To quote the TLC song, "Unpretty":
"You can buy all the make-up that mac can make
But if you can’t look inside you
Find out who am i, too
Be in a position to make me feel so damn unpretty"
This blog will show the true meaning I believe behind beauty. I will have makeup, hair and skincare reviews.  But most of all I will asking for opinions, suggestions and forums that would be beneficial to subscribers. So I hope you are ready for a fresh take on a common subject, buckle up and enjoy the ride!!!
