Miami City Ballet Celebrates The Season's First Program: First Ventures

Miami City Ballet’s first Program, titled First Ventures, opens Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami and continues at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale and the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach on subsequent weekends.

 The aptly-named First Ventures program marks the debut season of new Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez, and features both a Company premiere by one of today’s leading choreographers - Christopher Wheeldon - and two classic Balanchine ballets that are each “firsts” in their own right.

They opened in Miami with a red carpet event at the Adrienne Arscht Center. With a DJ, cocktails and photo opportunities with the dancers, it is truly an event to remember. The program has been praised with stellar reviews and in true MCB tradition, makes an amazing statement. Here are some fabulous pics from First Ventures:
